What's the Sound of a Dream?
What happens when piano and electronics meet on equal sonic footing, alternating effortlessly between accompaniment and shared moments of solo expression?
These questions motivated the creation of Ako Amo's debut album. 'What's the Sound of a Dream?' is compositional ambient music for critical dreamers — for listeners who dare to get lost in thought, even at the risk of bumping their heads.

Switzerland-based duo Ako Amo – consisting of Martin Reck on electronics & Olivia Zaugg on piano – began as an ambitious live interpretation of 'Uoon I' by Alva Noto & Ryuichi Sakamoto. To achieve this, they custom-built electronic instruments capable of synthesizing the piece's sounds in real-time.
Over the following years, this foundation developed into their own distinctive performance practice & compositional aesthetic. Their debut album is a playful, quirky, and warm continuation of what inspired the duo initially.

Early digital electronics, acoustic piano, piano processing & sensitive sound design make up the Ako Amo sound.
Martin Reck is an electronic musician, composer and singer-songwriter under the name Martin Antoinette. Together with pianist Olivia Zaugg, he forms the live compositional ambient duo Ako Amo. His work explores the shared ground between electroacoustic music, pop, and club culture — through dialogue, a musical language emerges shaped by the logic of magical realism.

Olivia Zaugg’s work has lead to myriad musical explorations - as composer, arranger, a classical Lied pianist, and as a singer and accordionist; an artist committed to interdisciplinary collaboration and the research of new performative formats.
